U Mumba is a Professional Kabaddi leagueteam in Mumbai. The club's name is derived from the city where it is based, Mumbai, and the ‘U’ signifies that the club belongs to the supporters. Hence, the conjoined name "U MUMBA." 

The primary color on the team’s jersey is orange, relating to the fishermen in the region who use orange as their main color. The fishermen's color stands out as a clutter breaker in the deep blue ocean in the region, which is highly symbolic to the Kabaddi game.

Along with eleven others, the U Mumba team contests in the Kabaddi league, which is a double-round robin and playoff tournament. The U Mumba team has been a part of the pro kabaddi league since the first season.

U MUMBA

U Mumba is the resident Kabaddi club in Mumbai. It plays its Kabaddi league home matches at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai. 

In the Pro Kabaddi League’s first season in 2014, theU Mumba Kabaddi teamwas one of the dominating teams. The Mumbai Kabaddi team played exceptionally well and set the pace for themselves as a must-watch team. 

U MUMBA ended the inaugural season as runners up to the Jaipur Pink Panthers and have become more successful ever since. The team became winners of the league in 2015.

The U MUMBA Kabaddi team is owned and managed by USports Ventures Pvt. Ltd. USports Ventures Pvt. Ltd is a business owned by Indian Entrepreneur and businessman Ronnie Screwvala. The management has over the years invested in the club to ensure its viability and competitiveness.

PKL 2022 Season: U MUMBA

U MUMBA’s strength lies in its offense with the presence of two agile and mobile raiders in Ajith Kumar and Abishek Singh. Both raiders were among the top in the division last season and are tipped for a big year this season. The performance of U Mumba Players and the leadership of captain Fazel Atrachali are another strength for the team.

The weakness of the U MUMBA team will come from their overreliance on club captain Fazel Atrachali's performance. Also, weakness in defense will cost the team this season, as evidenced by the team's performance when they lost games by slim margins.

With youngsters in crucial areas of offense and defense, there will be opportunities for growth both in this season and in the future.

The coach's inexperience in management might turn out to be a significant threat to their season in the PKL.
