His upbringing appears to have kept him grounded, which explains his kind demeanour toward fans and close friends. However, this great cricket player has made the most of his good fortune, as one of his main passions outside of cricket is riding fantastic motorcycles and collecting supercars. He also enjoys football and he is known for his fondness for dogs.

MS Dhoni attended DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir in Shyamali, Ranchi, Jharkhand, for his elementary and secondary school, exceeding expectations in badminton and football. Dhoni opted to focus on cricket after his coach spotted his talent and sent him to the local club. He got accepted to St. Xavier's College. Due to his busy schedule, he was exempted from attending classes there, but he was unable to do so for the second year, so he opted to suspend his program.

Dhoni’s favorite dish is butter chicken. He eats largely home-cooked meals that are high in carbs, lipids, vitamins, and minerals. Add in a few fruits, salads, milk, and porridge, and you've got a pretty decent sense of Captain Cool's favorite foods.

MS Dhoni’s Biography

Born and raised in the Lwali hamlet of Ranchi, India, now known as Jharkhand, Mahendra Singh Dhoni grew up with his brother Narendra Singh Dhoni and sister Jayanti Gupta. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been a cricket fan since he was a child. Adam Craig Gilchrist, an Australian cricket pundit, and Sachin Tendulkar, a former captain of India's cricket team, were both major influences.

MS Dhoni was a badminton and football star in high school. His football coach, on the other hand, led him to a nearby cricket club to play cricket, where he discovered his innate wicket-keeping abilities. Dhoni's career began when he joined the Commando cricket club as a wicket-keeper from 1995 to 1998.

Dhoni’s Career

Deval Sahay chose Dhoni to play for the Central Coal Fields Limited (CCL) team in 1998, and he helped the team reach the A division. Sahay then lobbied for Dhoni's inclusion in the Bihar team. Dhoni went from playing in the CCL to the Bihar Ranji team in less than a year. Dhoni played for the Bihar U-19 team and made 176 runs in five games. Dhoni would go on to make a half-century in his debut encounter against the Assam cricket team, scoring 68 in the second innings. In a losing cause, Dhoni then struck his first-class century against Bengal.

Prakash Poddar, the Bengal captain in the 1960s, witnessed Dhoni play for Jharkhand in a match in Jamshedpur and reported to the National Cricket Academy. MS Dhoni has been selected for India A squad. Sourav Ganguly, the then-Indian captain, noticed Dhon's potential and was ultimately responsible for training and grooming the star player. MS Dhoni vs Virat Kohli

While the statistics may favour Virat Kohli, who is widely regarded as the finest batsman in all forms, MS Dhoni has a long list of achievements as the captain of India's cricket team. When Dhoni took over as captain of the Indian team, the sport had been suffering some bad luck, and Dhoni's new ideas and perceptive approach were just what Indian cricket needed to get back on track.

Given how far he went to win so many titles, including the CB series, World T20, Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Champions Trophy, and ICC World Cup, it's no surprise that many people thought Dhoni could do no wrong.

Both players appear to be polar opposites in terms of personality, with Kohli's youthful and vigorous energy contrasted against Dhoni's calm, focused demeanour. Their play styles reflect this as well, with Kohli's passionate plays that manage to excite fans and critics, Captain Cool's composure was starting to wear down its novelty by the twelfth over.

So, while Kholi is a very capable and skilled player, the current Indian cricket captain has a lot of expectations to live up to when compared to the famous MS Dhoni.

MS Dhoni as Captain

Anil Kumble began his retirement in 2008, allowing someone else to take over as captain of the Indian cricket team. MS Dhoni stepped into his shoes as captain and retained the position for the longest time in the game's history. MS Dhoni's talents helped India become the number one Test team for the first time in 2009. In Test cricket, he was also the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to reach 4,000 runs.

The Indian national team won the one-day Cricket World Cup in 2011 under his captaincy. Another record that Dhoni has is the most amount of overseas Test defeats by an Indian captain, however, it is not one he cherishes. He coached Yuvraj Singh, the star of India's 2011 World Cup team, to victory and given him support when he was diagnosed with cancer.

Singh's haircut has varied as much as his profession throughout the years.

From his long, golden hair when he first started his professional career to his long, straightened jet-black hair for the 2007 T20 World Cup.

Later, he chose a salt-and-pepper look to emphasize his field experience. He's also been seen recently with a clipped black hairdo.

He's been known to colour his hair a few times, mostly in his early years, but he's stuck with the natural black for the most part.

  1. In 2016, Dhoni resigned as the brand ambassador of Amrapali Real Estate Group after the residents from one of its units faced logistical issues and started a social media campaign.

Current and Past Relationships

Mahi is married to Sakshi Rawat, a childhood friend who has been there for him every step of the way. Despite the fact that they had grown apart over the years, the couple reconnected and began dating by chance.

On July 4, 2010, he proposed to her and married her the next day. Ziva, their daughter, was born on February 6, 2015. He laments not spending enough time with her during her early years because of his busy profession, and now devotes much of his time to strengthening their bond.
